Detection of mexB Multidrug Efflux Gene in Some Local Isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

According to the prevalence of multidrug resistance bacteria, especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa, in which essential mechanism drug is ability possess an efflux pump by extrusion antimicrobial agents usually occurs, this study aims detect presence mexB gene some local isolates bacteria that show towards three antibiotics, out five. Sensitivity test antibiotics was performed on all using meropenem (10µg/disc), imipenem amikacin (30 μg/disc), ciprofloxacin (5µg/disc) and ceftazidime µg/disc). Conventional PCR results showed (244bp) four ten (40%). In addition,25, 50μg/ml curcumin used its efficacy with towards. Results highest for (80%), while them were sensitive imipenem. addition, present both concentrations (25, 50μg/ml) effective increasing zone inhibition from zero 10 mm amikacin. Same result obtained ciprofloxacin, except increase 7 one isolate (38T) when treated 50 μg/ml, finally sensitivity found increased 8 11 second (42E), revealed potentiates activity mechanisms can be related synergetic between curcumin.
